New Delhi: Pakistan limited-overs opener Nasir Jamshed has been ruled out of his country’s tour of Sri Lanka next month with a fractured left index finger. Jamshed – who has played 16 ODIs since making his international debut in 2008 – had been named in Pakistan’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour but is now expected to be ruled out for four to six weeks.
The 22-year-old had been key to Pakistan winning the Asia Cup in Bangladesh in March, scoring 193 runs in four matches including a maiden ODI century, against India. A replacement has not been named by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka also consists of three Tests and two Twenty20 internationals, the first of which begins on June 1 in Hambantota to kick-start the series.
The opener has played 16 ODIs and was part of Pakistan's squad for the ODI series next month.
