Bad news for India ahead of the World Twenty20 campaign. Stylish opener Gautam Gambhir has hurt his wrist during India’s first warm-up against Sri Lanka at P Sara Oval in Colombo on Saturday.
The 30-year-old was on five when a rising Lasith Malinga delivery hit him on the wrist. He winced with great pain. He has been sent to a nearby hospital for a check-up.
India’s second warm-up against Pakistan is slated for Monday. The 2007 champions open their campaign on September 19 against Afghanistan at the Premadasa.
