It's been a horror start to IPL 7 for Kolkata Knight Riders' skipper, Gautam Gambhir, on a personal note. Hoping to lead from the front and knock again on Team India doors, Gambhir has instead lived a nightmare so far scoring two consecutive ducks.
Yet to score a run this IPL season, the Kolkata skipper got the much-needed support from the team's coach WV Raman, who felt the axed India opener is not far from hitting form.
"Gautam Gambhir is just one knock away from striking form," IPL's official website, iplt20.com, quoted Raman. "He is too good a player to allow this to happen for too long. Hopefully, he will get going sooner rather than later and once he gets going, you know what he is capable of. You know what has happened as far as results are concerned for KKR when he has got going. We are hoping that he will find his rhythm quickly."
"He is too good a player to allow this to happen for too long," the Kolkata Knight Riders’ coach said about Gambhir, who is yet to open his account in IPL 7. (BCCI)
Gambhir's two noughts have come against Mumbai Indians, who Kolkata beat, and Delhi Daredevils, against whom Kolkata suffered their first defeat of the season.
