England XI innings:

England XI 116 for 0 in 35 overs: It's stumps! Jonathan Trott and Nick Compton both have scored fifties and are not out on 60 and 53 respectively. England XI now lead Haryana by 304 runs with 10 wickets still in hand.

England XI 80 for 0 in 30 overs: Nick Compton (37 off 91 balls) and Jonathan Trott (40 off 91 balls) are playing at a snail's pace. But again, they have plenty of time. The tourists have taken their lead to 268. Minimum overs remaining today: 5.

Har vs Eng XI, Day three: As it happened

Nick Compton and Jonathan Trott play patiently after England XI bowlers bowled out the hosts for 333.

England XI 43 for 0 in 16 overs: Nick Compton (22) and Jonathan Trott (18) are a bit slow in scoring but that's alright. There are plenty of overs to go. The visitors take their lead to 231.

England XI 29 for 0 in 7 overs: So the visitors decide to bat. Not surprising though. They would want to have as much batting practice as they can ahead of the first Test. Jonathan Trott (14) and Nick Compton (15) go neck and neck as far as scoring is concerned.

Haryana innings:

Haryana 333 all out in 113.4 overs: Just when we started entertaining thoughts that the hosts might just avoid the follow-on, Chanderpal Saini (35) and Sanjay Budhwar (0) fall in quick succession. Stuart Meaker claims Saini for his third wicket, while Kevin Pietersen gets rid of Budhwar. Rahul Dewan finds himself lonely on 144 at the other end. It's been a marathon innings for him, a blend of caution and aggression. Let's see whether England ask Haryana to follow-on. They might want to have a bat, who knows?

Haryana 319 for 8 in 108 overs: Rahul Dewan (138) and Chanderpal Saini (27) have added 47 runs so far and hosts now need 53 runs to avoid the follow-on.

Haryana 274 for 8 in 94 overs: Amit Vashisht goes after scoring 16. Samit Patel traps him lbw. Rahul Dewan is unbeaten on 120. Now all Haryana hopes ride on him. Still, 98 runs needed to avoid the follow-on.

Haryana 256 for 7 in 90 overs: Ladies and gentlemen, it's lunch.Rahul Dewan, who has impressed one and all with his great resources of patience, and Amit Vashisht have added 24 runs so far to keep the hosts' hopes of avoiding the follow-on alive. However, it looks a long shot. Dewan 112, Vashisht 8.

Haryana 237 for 7 in 82.3 overs: Rahul Dewan reaches a fabulous ton. Really, he has stood out from the rest of the batsmen. It's really sad he hasn't got any support at the other end since the start of the day. Jayant Yadav is the latest casualty and it's Stuart Meaker again, cleans up the batsman for 17.

Haryana 212 for 6 in 75.3 overs: Amit Mishra's innings of 17 off 37 balls comes to an end. He gives pacer Stuart Meaker his first wicket. Meanwhile, Rahul Dewan is nearing his hundred.

Haryana 186 for 5 in 66 overs: Sandeep Singh goes after a valiant 82. It's Tim Bresnan again. He takes his third wickets as Alastair Cook takes a nice catch. But Rahul Dewan is still there. He is Haryana's biggest bet in their bid to avoid the follow-on.

Haryana 175 for 4 in 63 overs: Play has begun. Three runs have come in two overs. Rahul Dewan on 78, Sandeep Singh 4. Graham Onions and Tim Bresnan are operating in tandem.

Haryana will begin day three on 172 for 4 at Ahmedabad. Rahul Dewan (77) and Sandeep Singh (2) will start the proceedings. The hosts need 372 to avoid the follow-on.
