Kyle Mills hobbled off with a strained left thigh after picking two wickets against Canada.
Mumbai: New Zealand's injury list lengthened Sunday when paceman Kyle Mills hobbled off with a strained left thigh after collecting two wickets in the 97-run World Cup win over Canada.
Skipper Daniel Vettori was already sidelined after injuring his right knee attempting a catch in the 110-run win over Pakistan last Tuesday, although he's expected to be fit for New Zealand's last Group A match against Sri Lanka.
Team spokesman Ellery Tappin said Mills would be assessed for 48 hours before management made any judgment on his fitness.
Wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum was limping toward the end of Sunday's match, but he'd spent 37 overs at the crease compiling 101 runs and then 50 overs fielding in hot conditions at Wankhede Stadium.
