Melbourne: Australia Test discard Phil Hughes has received a call-up as replacement for Peter Forrest, who injured himself during Australia A's match against England Lions at Old Trafford.
"Peter sustained a minor side-strain in the match against the England Lions at Old Trafford and with only one match remaining we have decided to send him home to prepare for the up-coming season," said Cricket Australia Case and Rehabilitation Manager Kevin Sims said.
Hughes, 30, has not played for Australia since December but has enjoyed success in county cricket with Warwickshire this season. The left-hander hit two centuries in the domestic 40-over competition and in the County Championship became the first Worcestershire batsman since Stephen Moore in 2008 to carry his bat.
Australia A have one match left on their tour of England, against England Lions at Edgbaston starting Tuesday.
