India A Innings (day three)
India A 124 for 4 in 40 overs: Match drawn. Suresh Raina remained not out at 19. But Yuvraj has won the battle within with his half century backed by a five-wicket haul. Manoj Tiwary too hasn't done much harm to his chances with his 93. But it remains to be seen who gets to see his name on the squad list on November 5.
India A 118 for 4 in 39 overs: Samit Patel gets amongst the wickets, snaps Rahane. Patel gets the edge and Anderson does the rest in the slips, albeit after juggling act. Rahane made 53.
Yuvraj Singh followed his 59 in the first innings with a five-wicket haul to augment his chances of a Test recall for the first Test starting November 15.
India A 110 for 3 in 34 overs: Fifty for Ajinkya Rahane, and this has certainly enhanced his chances of being retained in the Test squad. Raina hanging in there, at 9, but with just 21 overs left in the match, a handshake is not too far.
India A 98 for 3 in 30 overs: Yuvraj's innings has been curtained out by Tim Bresnan. Bell, at mid-on, takes the catch. Raina is in and he would have been praying for it, but little time to make an impression.
India A 94 for 2 in 28 overs: 27 minimum overs remaining in the day. A draw certain but Rahane getting a good workout in the middle, approaching a half century. Yuvraj too feeling the middle of his bat. Test recall beckons?
India A 69 for 2 in 21 overs: Murali Vijay out to Anderson. Neat catch by Swann at wide first slip. Until then, Vijay was looking good to last the distance, but has fallen for 32. Yuvraj Singh is the new man in.
TEA - India A 66 for 1 after 19 overs: India A have taken a nine-run lead. Both Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahana are batting in the thirties. Its tea time.
India A 53 for 1 after 14 overs: India A's second-wicket pair has taken the score past 50 and nearer to the lead. Murali Vijay has hit in his 42-ball 26. Ajinkya Rahane also striking the ball well.
India A 35 for 1 after 9 overs: An hour after lunch, India A have lessened the England XI lead to 22. Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane are at the crease and ticking along well.
India A 24 for 1 after 6 overs: James Anderson has removed Abhinav Mukund for 3 to give England XI an early entry. India A trail by 33. Murali Vijay has begun positively with three boundaries.
England XI Innings (day three)
England XI 426 for 9 (end of innings): Yuvraj Singh has taken his fifth wicket and England finish on 426 with nine as Steven Finn is injured. James Anderson is the man dismissed, caught at short leg. Tim Bresnan remains not out on 33. The England XI take a 57-run lead. Yuvraj has sent a strong message to India's new selection committee ahead of the squad announcement on November 5.
England XI 420 for 8 after 118 overs: Tim Bresnan is into the thirties and James Anderson has reached double-figures. England are getting their lower order into some form in their first outing on tour. India A just cannot make inroads this afternoon.
England XI 405 for 8 after 115 overs: Tim Bresnan has taken the total past 400 in the company of James Anderson. The England XI now lead by 36 runs.

11 a.m. OUT! Another wicket for Yuvraj, his fourth. Samit Patel tried to be aggressive but ended up just chipping it to cover. But a great knock by Patel, 104. England XI 372 for 7.

10:50 a.m. That's out! Yuvraj strikes again. An entertaining half century from Prior comes to a close. The England wicketkeeper went for the drive but only edged it to Raina at slip. A run-a-ball fifty that included nine boundaries. England XI 367 for 6.

10:20 a.m. Patel completes century. First hundred for Samit Patel playing for England. He brought it up with a controlled pull through square leg for a single. Took 161 balls to reach there with the help of 14 fours. Prior is on 21. England XI 333 for 5.
10 a.m. Cook departs for 119. Dinda induced an edge from the England XI skipper, which was neatly grabbed by wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Matt Prior, who has joined Patel in the middle, has raced to 11 off 9 balls with the help of one boundary. England XI 313 for 5.

9:50 a.m. India A have opened the day with Irfan Pathan and Ashok Dinda, but Cook and Patel have continued from where they left. No trouble whatsoever. Patel fast approaching his hundred.
Day 2 round-up
Alastair Cook will look to keep India A on the ground on the final day of England's first tour game after he scored an unbeaten century on Wednesday to take England to 286 for 4 in replay to the hosts' 369.
Cook became the first touring England captain to hit a century in a pre-Test series warm-up since Graham Gooch in 1992-93, as the England XI hit back from a middle-order collapse with an unbroken 153-run stand between their skipper and allrounder Samit Patel, who was not out on 82.
