India Innings:

49th over: India win. Sensational finish. The two young guns, who are supposed to bowl fast, have shown that they can handle the willow as well. Kudos to Aaron and Yadav, who finishes it off with a boundary. India 1 - West Indies 0.

48th over: Now 9 needed off 12, one wicket in hand. Can the tailenders Aaron and Yadav become heroes?

47th over: Disaster! Double blow! First Rohit and then Vinay. Rohit misses the line, just 11 runs away, on an Anthony Martin delivery to let the ball through to hit his stumps. Vinay follows him soon, in just the next over as he hits one straight to mid-off. Now just one wicket in hand and still 11 to get. Two wicket-maidens in a row.

R Sharma b Martin 72 (99)

45th over: Just 11 runs to go now. It's 201 for 7 and Rohit has played a gem here. Just the home straight left now but no need for a dash. A jog will do as there are still 30 balls left.

40th over: 26 needed off 60 balls now, but with just three wickets left. One wicket here and the match could change again. But Rohit is playing intelligently and in Vinay Kumar seemed to have found an able partner. If Rohit stays the length, this should be India's game.

32nd over: Suicide! Scenes of the last-ball draw re-visited! R Ashwin, who should have run on Rohit's call as the latter was running to the danger end, has been left stranded. Rohit was always coming back for the second run as it was his call. Ashwin kept saying no, Rohit kept running, forcing Ashwin to eventually take off. But too late in the end. The game is back in Windies camp at 159 for 7.

R Ashwin run out 6 (10)

29th over: The revival has got a jolt! Ravindra Jadeja, after stitching an 83-run partnership with Rohit Sharma, has fallen. On a fullish delivery on the off-stump, Jadeja slashes it uppishly straight to point. But it has become a close one now at 142 for 6. Rohit the key, as he reaches fifty in 62 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja c Simmons b Pollard 38 (62)

20th over: Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja take India close to 100 runs. Both the batsmen are trying to play risk-free cricket by nudging balls into the gaps for singles. Ind 89/5

12th over: India five down! The ball stops on Raina, who checks his shot at the last moment but the ball went in the air enough to reach short mid-off. India in dire straits. Suddenly the absence of Dhoni and Yuvraj seems like a big gaping hole in the middle order. India 59 for 5.

S Raina c Bravo b Russell 5 (7)

10th over: Big blow! Sehwag is walking back! He misjudges the length of Andre Russell's ball, which was not too short to cut. As a result, Sehwag's off-stump goes for a walk. India in more than a concern now at 51 for 4.

V Sehwag b Russell 20 (29)

7th over: Stun silence! Why? India have just lost their third wicket, at 47. Roach gets one to cut in off the seam and Kohli's loose defence lets the ball go through the gate and disturb the stumps. Suddenly that 212 seems a long way off.

V Kohli b Roach 3 (6)

5th over: Impressive stuff by Roach! The West Indies fast bowler first induces Parthiv to play a lofted square cut, which falls into the hands of Martin, and follows it up with a ball which jumps after hitting the deck, taking the thick edge of Gambhir's bat before going into Ramdin's hand.

G Gambhir c Ramdin b Roach 4 (3)

P Patel c Martin b Roach 12 (13)

3rd over: India have got off to a solid start, with both Sehwag and Patel hitting boundaries from the start. West Indies start the bowling with pacer Kemar Roach and leg-spinner Anthony Martin.

West Indies innings:

50th over: A decent last over for the West Indies as eight runs come off it. India need 212 to go 1-0 in the five match series.

48th over: West Indies lose their ninth wicket for exactly 200 as Andre Russell is bowled by Varun Aaron, who picks up his second wicket.

45th over: It's bad to worse for the Windies as Dinesh Ramdin goes for 14. From 154/4, the visitors have stumbled to 183/8, four wickets lost for 29 runs.

42nd over: Skipper Darren Sammy goes for a blob as West Indies sink further. Sammy has no answers to a quicker one from Jadeja who picks up his first wicket.

37th over: And now, Kieron Pollard goes. Tries to clear the deep mid-on boundary only to find Virat Kohli to be dismissed for 13.

35th over: Ravindra Jadeja gets the all important wicket of Darren Bravo who is out after an impressive innings of 60 from 74 balls. West Indies could have done without that wicket.

33rd over: Six runs come off the over as West Indies go past the 150 mark.

27th over: A casual piece of running led to West Indies losing their fourth wicket. Batsman, Danza Hyatt turned around for the second run without even bothering to look at the non-striker (Bravo). Hyatt made 27 and the score at the end of the over is 127/4.

23rd over: The West Indies cross the 100 mark as Darren Bravo and Danza Hyatt bring up their 50 run partnership.

20th over: Another relatively quiet period of play for the West Indies. Hyatt and Bravo have taken the score to 86/3 at the end of the over.

15th over: It's slow progress by the West Indies who have added only 12 runs in the last five overs, and only two came off this one.

10th over: Yadav strikes for India as Lendl Simmons (19 off 30) is out to an irresponsible shot under the circumstances. Simmons tries to cut a ball to close to him and plays it on to his stumps. It's 52/3 at the end of the mandatory powerplay.

9th over: Varun Aaron who seems to be bowling well within himself, bowls Marlon Samuels, the ball hitting the batsman's pads before disturbing the stumps, as West Indies lose their second wicket. Samuels made 10 off 11 balls.

7th over: 13 runs come off the over as Vinay Kumar is struck for a four and a six by Simmons who is going great guns at the moment.

6th over: It's 27/1 at the end of the over as Yadav is struck for a couple of boundaries by Marlon Samuels.

5th over: A splendid delivery by Vinay Kumar pitching and going away accounts for Adrian Barath's (17) wicket. Barath edges the ball and is caught by Parthiv Patel behind the stumps.

3rd over: Barath has struck Vinay Kumar for a couple of fours in the over.

2nd over: The third delivery is a short one outside the off stump by Umesh Yadav, Adrian Barath takes full advantage of it and smashes it to the boundary. It's 8/0 at the end of the over.

Cuttack: India’s stand-in skipper, Virender Sehwag won the toss and elected to field in the first of five one-day internationals (ODI) against the West Indies on Tuesday.

Parthiv Patel will open the innings with Sehwag and India have opted to go in with pacers Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron and Vinay Kumar, for the game, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be in charge of the spin attack.

West Indies on the other hand have brought back allrounders, Keiron Pollard and Andre Russell while fast bowler, Ravi Rampaul has been rested.
