Most Mumbaikars moved towards the Wankhede Stadium in anticipation of a masterclass with Sachin Tendulkar, playing his last and 200th Test, on 38 not out and approaching perhaps his final milestone.

The match situation puts India far ahead of the West Indies who were bowled out for 182, thanks to Pragyan Ojha's 5 for 40. India then went on to reach 157 for 2, just 25 behind, with Cheteshwar Pujara giving Sachin company at 34*

Sachin Tendulkar with the tri-colour in his hands is taking a lap of honour around the stadium. This is such an unbelievably emotional moment for each and every one present on the ground. MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are lifting Tendulkar on their shoulders. Remember that articulate remark by Kohli after winning the 2011 World Cup - "Sachin Tendulkar has carried the burden of the nation for 21 years. It was time we carried him!" He has been such a massive inspiration for all the budding cricketers not only in India but also across the globe.

That concludes an overwhelming speech and the crowd is making a lot of noise. It's a thrilling atmosphere and there is not a single dry eye in the stands.

And here comes the loud cheer from the crowd as the Master Blaster thanks all the spectators for being with him in thick and thin. He signs off by saying, "Goodbye!" and gives his autograph on the camera's lens for all the fans watching back home.

...Tendulkar points toward Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman (Kumble is not there) and says that they all have been his family away from home. Also says that when Dhoni gave him the 200th Test cap, he just said, he is all proud to be here as a team and he believes that all the guys will take care of this country in the right spirit and to the best of their abilities. Also wishes all the young players and says that he is proud of them.

Sachin Tendulkar further goes on to thank his friends, teammates and his coach, Ramakant Achrekar. Praised BCCI for all the support and taking good care of him. Also adds that he has high regards for all the senior cricketers with whom he has not played with...

...Sachin Tendulkar thanks his wife, Anjali. Says that she supported him superbly by taking care of the family and sacrificed her own career. Also adds that, "Anjali is the best partnership of his life!"

Tendulkar continues... He further goes on to thank his aunt and uncle where he stayed during his school days. Thanks his elder brother for all the support. And also adds that the first bat of his life was presented by his sister (gets emotional). Further says that, Ajit (his brother) and him saw this dream and it was Ajit who took him to his coach, Ramakant Achrekar!

And now amidst a huge cheer from the crowd Sachin Tendulkar comes up to the podium. He greets all his fans (crowd going mad after hearing his voice). Says that he would like to thank a lot of people who have been very instrumental in his career. He remembers his father on this day and says that he has tried to be a good human being. And every time he raised his bat to the heavens, it was for his father. Also thanks his mother for all the efforts she has put behind him.

MS Dhoni says that it was a professional performance. The bowlers were superb and the batting bailed them out in the Kolkata Test. Praises Shami Ahmed for his excellent bowling and says that performances like that lift the morale of the side. Says that it was the biggest match of cricketing history and thanks Sachin Tendulkar for being an inspiration for millions.

Darren Sammy says that they are very disappointed with the performance and it was quite embarrassing. On behalf of his team, he thanks Sachin Tendulkar and wishes him all the best. To his own team, Sammy urges them to keep fighting hard. Also adds that, India gave them the reality check and taught how to play Test cricket. Praises Rohit Sharma for his brilliant batting.

Sachin Tendulkar gets a special award, named the "Believe Trophy!" Another special trophy handed over to him on behalf of the Sri Lankan government. And now Sachin Tendulkar is felicitated by the Maharashtra Police. Awards galore!

Rohit Sharma bags the Man of the Series award. Says that it has been a great last couple of months for him and he just wants to keep doing well. Also says that it was a memorable Test match and is happy with the achievement of the team. Regarding his knock, he replies that the plan was to add as many runs to the lead and thanks Shami Ahmed for supporting him. Admits that it's just the start of his Test career and he just wants to carry on from where he left today.

Pragyan Ojha is adjudged the Man of the Match for grabbing a 10-wicket haul. Says that he loves bowling on the Mumbai wicket. Adds that he just follows his basics and enjoys bowling here. It was a special Test match and he will remember it forever. Also says that, he dedicates this performance to Sachin Tendulkar.

Ravi Shastri is ready with the post match presentation. He calls the match officials first up to take their medallions...

Sachin Tendulkar comes out of the dressing room and is joined by his wife and children. The crowd has gone bonkers and is chanting the name "Sachin! Sachin!" on top of its tonsils.

What an emotional Test match, in fact the series! West Indies were completely outplayed in every department as the home side was simply ruthless. The batting was brilliant for India and so was the bowling. Rohit Sharma and Shami Ahmed emerged as the positives for them, while once again the performance of their spinners was excellent.

The entire Indian squad is giving him the guard of honour near the pitch! Sachin Tendulkar cannot hide his tears as he walks back to the pavilion acknowledging the crowd, one final time. Tears on the faces of the spectators, end of an era and a career which spanned for 24 long years and surely was an illustrious one. Many have grown up watching this batting sensation and it's an emotional moment for all of them as the SRT era comes to an end. Call him Master Blaster, Little Genius or by any name, he is walking back leaving a legacy for generations to come. Take a bow, Sir! You will be missed...
