New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils desperately need a win under their belt as they look to inject some life into their campaign which has been derailed by three consecutive defeats. Without the likes of Virender Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen and Jesse Ryder, Delhi are yet to score their first point in IPL 6 and come Friday they will have another tricky fixture to deal with when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
Delhi will welcome back Sehwag, who missed the first three matches due to back spasm, which means that Unmukt Chand will have to sit out following three failures on the trot, including two golden ducks.
A fit and in-form Sehwag is just what Delhi needs to spring back to life after a dull start. He will open the innings with David Warner, who looks in sublime form and has given Delhi some decent starts. Skipper Mahela Jayawardene began IPL 6 well with a fifty but has failed to capitalise and has struggled in the last two matches. He will have to get back to form if Delhi have to make a comeback this season.
On the bowling front, Morne Morkel will share the new ball with Ashish Nehra. Morkel was hammered around the park by the Mumbai Indians batsmen in the last encounter and cannot afford to be so shoddy again. Irfan Pathan will have to contribute more for the side to shake off the disappointment of three consecutive losses. The team management might go back to South African Johan Botha in place of Jeevan Mendis.
On the other hand, Hyderabad made a lively start to their season until they were hammered by Virat Kohli in Bangalore. Hyderabad do not have many star players to flaunt but have a bunch of gritty cricketers who have made themselves count, be it young allrounder Hanuma Vihari or the experienced Thisara Perera.
Kumar Sangakkara still looks dangerous and Cameron White can take the game away from the opposition single-handedly. Hyderabad's strength is their bowling, led by world No. 1 Dale Steyn. They have a decent attack, featuring Ishant Sharma, Perera, Vihari and Amit Mishra. Thus, the visitors will surely fancy their chances against a team, whose batsmen are struggling to find their feet this season.
