Glenn Maxwell's blistering 89-run knock set up Kings XI Punjab's incredible victory and Rajasthan Royals' skipper Shane Watson hailed his Australian team-mate by saying that it was an exceptional innings and their bowlers could have done nothing to stop the onslaught.
"Maxwell batted beautifully and we expected him to mis-hit one but it was his day again today. There is not much you can do when he is hitting the ball like that," Watson told reporters after the match.
The crowd witnessed yet another Maxwell special in this year's edition of the IPL. Rajasthan couldn't quite come to terms as to what had struck them over a period of an hour that was filled with 'Maxwell Mayhem.'
Glenn Maxwell's blistering 89-run knock set up Kings XI Punjab's incredible victory over Rajasthan on Sunday.
It was the second consecutive time that the Punjab side has chased down a huge total, courtesy David Miller and Glenn Maxwell. "I have a plan for each ball, just try and hit different gaps. Depending on the field they set, I know where the ball is going to be. Worries me more that I was not there at the end to hit the winning runs, that was a job half finished," Maxwell said after the match.
Kings XI Punjab are second on the points table, trailing Royal Challengers Bangalore on net run-rate. They next play Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday.
