Little-known Railways allrounder Karan Sharma hit the jackpot at the IPL players' auction on day two, becoming the costliest buy among the uncapped players by fetching a startling Rs 3.75 crore deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Rishi Dhawan also fetched a stunning Rs 3 crore bid from Kings XI Punjab.
Earlier on day one, a total of 216 players went under the hammer, but only 70 were sold with Yuvraj Singh ending up as the top-earner, bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping Rs. 14 crore.
There were disappointments as well with the likes of Azhar Mahmood, Luke Wright, Mahela Jayawardene and others going unsold. Here are some of the Twitter reactions from the IPL Auctions.
Surprised with the result at the IPL 4me but not shocked. This is what happens in large auctions, it's a gamble. All the best to those picked— Azhar Mahmood (@AzharMahmood11) February 13, 2014
