New Delhi: Allrounder Irfan Pathan has been recalled to India's limited-overs squad for the tour of Sri Lanka after R Vinay Kumar was ruled out on Friday due to a hamstring injury.
"R Vinay Kumar suffered a Grade I right hamstring injury while training on 12th July, 2012. He will hence not be available for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka," BCCI honorary secretary Sanjay Jagdale said through a media release on Friday.
"He [Vinay] is expected to regain match-fitness in three weeks. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Irfan Pathan as his replacement in the Indian squad," the release added.
India are scheduled to play a five-match ODI series and a one-off Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka, with the first ODI to be played on July 21.
