Mumbai: Dhawal Kulkarni has been given a maiden call-up to the Indian squad as the selection committee on Tuesday named 15 players for the three-ODI series against the touring West Indies.
Another young pacer Mohit Sharama has also been recalled after missing out from the ODI series against Australia that India won 3-2. Mohit played two ODIs in India's tour to Zimbabwe in July-August.
Dhawal and Mohit have been included for out-of-form pacers Ishant Sharma and Vinay Kumar, both of whom were extremely expensive in the ODI series against Australia recently. Ishant and Vinay are the only two changes from the squad that took on Australia.
It's a maiden India call-up for Mumbai's Dhawal Kulkarni, while Mohit Sharma has also been included in place of Vinay Kumar.
It's a big call-up for Dhawal who represents Mumbai in domestic cricket. He has represented the state in 57 first-class, 40 List A and 49 T20 matches, picking up 180, 58 and 47 wickets respectively.
Ravindra Jadeja, who had a shoulder niggle and was rested for the West Indies Tests, has also been included to the squad, along with Yuvraj Singh, who couldn't contribute much with the bat against Australia.
