Junaid ready for second stint with Lancs

London: Pakistan international Junaid Khan will return to Lancashire in June, the English county champions revealed on Thursday. The 22-year-old starred predominantly in last year's domestic T20 competition, taking 12 wickets, including a career best of 3 for 12 against Derbyshire.

"Junaid showed last season his ability to win a game from almost any situation," head coach Peter Moores said. "His strength at bowling in [the] Powerplays and at the end of the innings in one-day cricket adds another dimension to the squad, and it will be great to have him back."

The move, which requires approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board, will enable the left-arm seamer to build on his performances for Lancashire last season.

Junaid ready for second stint with Lancashire

Pakistan international Junaid Khan will return to Lancashire in June, the English county champions revealed.

Junaid, who will be available to play in all competitions, will stay until the end of the season, if required. Director of Cricket Mike Watkinson added: "Junaid gave some outstanding performances for us in T20 cricket last season, particularly with his bowling at the end of an innings. He is also keen to spend additional time around the squad so that he can continue to develop his allround game."

Junaid will join the South African batsman Ashwell Prince as Lancashire's overseas players for 2012.
