Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders have roped in sports psychologist Rudi Webster, who managed the West Indies side led by Clive Lloyd in the 1970s, as its mental skills coach.
The Grenada-based Webster has done pioneering work in the mental component of performance and the mental conditioning of athletes, according to a KKR statement.
Webster has also worked with the national cricket teams of Sri Lanka and India.
The Grenada-based Webster managed the West Indies side led by Clive Lloyd in the 1970s.
Commenting on Webster's appointment, KKR Chief Executive Venky Mysore said: "I am sure he will add to the strength of the terrific support staff we have and play an important role in taking our side to the next level of performance."
