Kolkata: In order to attract massive crowd during their matches in IPL 5, Kolkata Knight Riders have introduced tickets at a throwaway price of Rs. 300.
Kolkata CEO and managing director, Venky Mysore, on Friday told PTI that 80 per cent of the tickets in the 63,500 capacity stadium will be in Rs 500-slab.
"We want everybody to come and enjoy the match. We want to give them maximum opportunity to watch some good, exciting cricket," Mysore said after his meeting with CAB top brass at Eden Gardens on Friday.
"Keeping that in mind, we have introduced a new slab of Rs 300 that will give opportunities to the students to come in large numbers," he said.
The prices in the upper and lower tiers of B C Roy Club House remained unchanged with Rs 2400 and 1500 respectively, he added.
KKR who lost to Mumbai Indians in the eliminator stage of the last edition, will begin their campaign against Delhi Daredevils at home on April 5.
