    As it happened: Pakistan vs South Africa, 1st Test Day 1

    Amla scored his 20th Test hundred (118*) as South Africa reached 245 for 8 at stumps on the opening day of the first Test, which was dominated by the Pakistan bowlers.

    South African skipper Graeme Smith has won the toss and elected to bat first with JP Duminy returning back to the Test team.
