World T20, NZ vs Bangladesh: as it happened

Firstly it was Brendon McCullum with his 123 and then Kyle Mills (3 for 33) and Tim Southee (3 for 16) finished things for New Zealand.

Mashrafe Mortaza c Franklin b Oram 5 (3)

18th over: 119 for 6: Nasir Hosain stays at his crease and plays fine in the third-man area for a four and reach a well made half-century. But Southee had his revenge by getting Hosain caught at long-on.

Nasir Hossain c Guptill b Southee 50 (39)

17th over: 111 for 5: Mills goes for runs in his last over and Bangladesh don't want to go down without a fight. Mills ends his spell of four overs with 3 for 33.

16th over: 97 for 5: Nasir Hosain looks to give some fight, as he takes on Vettori in his last over. Second ball off Vettori, Hosain steps out and slaps it through extra-cover and the last ball slogged down for another four in the long-on region.

15th over: 87 for 5: An excellent spell from Nathan McCullum comes to an end with the wicket of Mahmudullah. McCullum finishes his spell with figures of 1 for 15.

14th over: 86 for 4: After persisting with spin for a while, captain Taylor decides to bring on Oram for his second spell and turns out to be a wrong decision. Second ball, Oram goes a bit short and Nasir Hosain doesn't lose the opportunity to pull it over midwicket for a six. Then Hosain follows it up with a four off a late cut in the third-man region.

13th over: 74 for 4: Bowling in tandem with Vettori is paying off for Nathan McCullum because it gives him the opportunity to attack more.

12th over: 69 for 4: Third ball off Vettori, Mahmudullah makes a brave move and steps out to clear the long-on boundary for a six. 10 runs come off this over.

11th over: 59 for 4: Nathan McCullum is presently giving good support to Vettori by mixing it up well with the flighted and quicker balls.

10th over: 54 for 4: Bangladesh are finding it difficult to get the boundaries coming and it's quite palpable with the fall of early wickets.

9th over: 47 for 4: Now it's spin from both ends with Nathan McCullum coming on with his offspin. With the pitch holding up a bit, playing shots has become difficult.

8th over: 43 for 4: Daniel Vettori comes on to bowl his first over of the match and as expected starts with a tight line and length.

7th over: 37 for 4: Tim Southee bowls a wicket-maiden. Southee delivery holds the line and Ashraful goes across and gets trapped on the pads to be given out LBW.

Mohammad Ashraful lbw b Southee 21 (21)

6th over: 37 for 3: Mills three wickets has put Bangladesh on the backfoot and from here on things only look difficult for Bangladesh and only a miracle can take them through.

5th over: 34 for 3: Mills is having a great run now at the middle as he also gets the wicket of Musfiqur Rahim for 4. Musfiqur goes for the long handle shot over leg-side but skies it to midwicket where Williamson completes a good catch.

4th over: 29 for 2: Jacob Oram comes in to bowl and Ashraful takes on him by slamming two boundaries. Two wickets have not affected the playing style of the Bangladesh batsmen.

New Zealand innings:

8th over: 56 for 1: Now the experienced Shakib comes on to bowl and concedes 11 runs. McCullum dances down the track and heaves over cover for a six.

4th over: 21 for 1: Bangladesh captain didn't wait for long knowing the weakness of New Zealand batsmen playing spin and introduces spin in the form of left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak, who bowls Guptill for 11. Guptill misses out on a straighter delivery by playing the wrong line.
