Deccan were never in the chase and could only manage 145 for 8.
19th over: Deccan 136 for 8 The first ball from Awana goes past the batsman and the keeper for a four. Bye runs. However, the next ball gets him the desired result. Ashish Reddy tries to hit him out of the park but only finds Marsh at mid-wicket. Second wicket for Awana, who has impressed one and all with his variety. 12th over: Deccan 75 for 5 Praveen Kumar removes Kumar Sangakkara. Big wicket. Is it the end of the road for Deccan? The out-swinger outdid the Sri Lankan as keeper Saini takes an easy catch.

6th over: Deccan 40 for 2 Mahmood starts on a wrong note. The first ball is a wide and goes to the boundary as well. It rarely happens to the Pakistani bowler. Normally, he is at you all the time.

17th over: Punjab 138 for 5 Rusty Theron comes back. It's a crucial stage of the match. Mahmood run out. Misunderstanding between Miller and him but he bears the brunt. 12th over: Punjab 97 for 3 Veer Pratap Singh continues. Hussey out. Attempt to clear the long-off but fails to do so as Harris takes a simple catch. Big wicket for Deccan.
Hussey c Harris b Pratap Singh 16 (16)
11th over: Punjab 91 for 2 Aussie Daniel Harris takes the ball. Let's see what he can do with his medium-pacers. Superb over until the last ball when Mandeep lifts it over the covers for a one bounce four. Fifty for the right-hander. Came in just 30 balls.
10th over: Punjab 86 for 2 Veer Pratap Singh comes back on. Was pretty expensive in his fist over with 18 runs. Mandeep makes room to hit over the in-field on the off-side. The balls crosses the ropes after a couple of bounces. Beautiful shot. Fetches a double off the last ball.
9th over: Punjab 77 for 2 Captain David Hussey joins Mandeep. Amit Mishra comes into the attack and Hussey smashes him for a six over long-off. Mishra is having an IPL to forget. He did well in the last match against RCB but he has been a disappointment in the main.
8th over: Punjab 68 for 2 Nitin Saini is the new batsman in. Ashish Reddy comes into bowl. Saini out. Umpire Kumar Dharmasena gets it all wrong. Replays show the ball will have missed the leg stump. Mandeep finishes the over in style with a six.
Saini lbw b Ashish Reddy 2 (4)

Marsh b Dhawan 22 (20)

5th over: Punjab 42 for 0 Shikhar Dhawan replaces Jhunjhunwala. A big lbw appeal against Mandeep, the umpire says no. Replays show it was really close. He survives a run-out two balls later. An eventful over by all means.
4th over: Punjab 38 for 0 Rusty Theron, who replaced Steyn for this match, comes into bowl. And the first ball goes for a four. Marsh steers the ball past point. The third man runs towards his left but fails to cut it off.
3rd over: Punjab 30 for 0 Jhunjhunwala continues. Mandeep gets another four. Just directs the ball towards third man.
2nd over: Punjab 23 for 0 Mandeep greets Veer Pratap Singh with a four. Great pull. He follows it up with a six, the ball is a bit short and he cuts it over point. Wow. Madeep has surely got some skills. Mandeep tries to play a similar shot off the third ball but this time the execution is nowhere close to the previous one, the result is a double. Here comes another four, lifts it over covers for a one bonce four. He is having a gala time here in Hyderabad.
