Saurabh Tiwary (36) and AB de Villiers (33) at the end guided Bangalore to a 6-wicket win against Pune.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
20th over: 186 for 4. Bangalore hold on to their nerves to pull off a splendid win against Pune. Needing 21 runs for victory, de Villiers took the challenge to himself and smashed two sixes and one one four off Nehra. Later Saurabh Tiwary facing the last ball hit a six to end Pune's dream. Great match and a splendid win for Bangalore. Pune can only blame themselves for giving away 21 runs, which they should have managed to hold on.
19th over: 162 for 4. Dinda completes a important over for Pune. No boundary or a six coming off from this one. Bangalore now need 21 runs off the last over. Game on.
18th over: 155 for 4. de Villiers reverse-sweeps Mathews for a six and then Tiwary launches one over deep mid-wicket. Few big hits and odd boundaries can take Bangalore to clinch this match.
17th over: 139 for 4. This one from Bhuvneshwar Kumar can be called a decent one by giving 11 runs at this stage. From here on, the side that holds on to their nerves can pull off.
16th over: 128 for 4. Nehra replies to Gayle's six off him by cleaning up the West Indian batsman with an excellent yorker. Now all rests on de Villiers to guide his team to victory.
Chris Gayle b Nehra 81 (48)
15th over: 117 for 3. Now the match hangs in balance and can go any team's way. With Gayle still at crease, Pune can't breathe easy and need to get rid of him as soon as possible.
14th over: 112 for 3. What a relief from a big last over. Mathews manages to keep Saurabh Tiwary at the batting end, giving some time for Gayle to calm down from his six hitting euphoria.
13th over: 107 for 3. A big over for Bangalore, courtesy Gayle hitting off Rahul Sharma. Gayle hits five successive sixes to plunder 31 runs from this over. Gayle now poses real threat for Pune and key to RCB's chances.
12th over: 76 for 3. Kohli fails to remain patient and goes for a uppish cut off Mathews and Rahul Sharma runs in from deep point to complete the catch.
Virat Kohli c Sharma b Mathews 16 (19)
11th over: 68 for 2. The Pune bowlers are keeping things tight, but for how long that is the question.
10th over: 63 for 2. Angelo Mathews introduced to the attack and gets through a good one. Third ball from Mathews and a full-toss rockets down to the boundary. What a strike from Gayle, however Kohli is unable to time the ball.
9th over: 56 for 2. These tight overs will prove crucial at the later stages of the match. Gayle and Kohli are finding it tough to score off freely.
8th over: 50 for 2. Samuels gets through another tight over. Samuels is hardly giving any room to Gayle specially to free his arms.
7th over: 47 for 2. Bhubaneshwar Kumar is impressive in the two overs he has bowled. Just one four, which Kohli flicks between fine-leg and square-leg.
6th over: 42 for 2. Great over from Marlon Samuels. Ganguly brings in Samuels and he doesn't disappoints his skipper. Mayank Agarwal looking to clear square-leg plays straight into the fielder's hands.
Mayank Agarwal c Manhas b Samuels 9 (10)
5th over: 40 for 1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar comes in to bowl some medium-fast stuff. With Gayle warmed up, he should be spot on.
4th over: 35 for 1. Chris Gayle cuts loose and attacks Nehra. He hits two successive sixes and a four. One goes over mid-wicket, next one goes for a maximum over long-off.
3rd over: 17 for 1. Mixed one for Bangalore. The home team gets runs and loses the wicket of Dilshan. His own 'Dilscoop' goes wrong for Dilshan and gives a easy catch to Uthappa behind the stumps. Last ball, Mayank Agarwal hits it clean over long-off for a six.
Tillakaratne Dilshan c Uthappa b Dinda 4 (8)
2nd over: 4 for 0. Ashish Nehra is getting some shape on the ball, maybe under lights there is something for the bowlers. Pune have the bowling power to defend the total, but need to get the wickets of the openers early to have any chance.
1st over: 3 for 0. Great start for Pune. Ashok Dinda steams in and generates good pace to keep both the openers on the back-foot.
Pune Warriors India:
20th over: 182 for 6. A fine over from Vinay Kumar to finish off things for Bangalore. Pune could have easily reached a 200 plus score, but Uthappa's wicket and later Samuel's turned things in favour of the home team.
19th over: 175 for 5. Not again. Another run out and this time it's Marlon Samuels, who held key to Pune's chances of posting more than 200 score. Pune took 11 runs from this Zaheer over.
Marlon Samuels run out 34 (20)
18th over: 164 for 4. Unfortunate run out for Smith. While going for a bye run, de Villiers returns a under-arm throw to Vinay Kumar and he flicks the bails off to find Smith short of crease.
Steven Smith run out 16 (14)
17th over: 155 for 3. Now Steven Smith warms up to the scene and slogs-sweep Vettori for a maximum over mid-wicket. Pune take 14 runs from his over and a expensive one so far in this match.
16th over: 141 for 3. Zaheer is back for his second spell and bowls with the third-man fielder inside the circle.
15th over: 134 for 3. Harshal Patel pulls off a decent over, maybe a new batsman in the form of Steven Smith worked in the bowler's favour.
14th over: 129 for 3. Two quick wickets has not stopped the flow of runs. Marlon Samuels steps out and hits Appanna for a six over long-off.
13th over: 117 for 3. The dangerous Uthappa falls and RCB players look mighty relieved to see him walk back. A lazy shot Uthappa plays off Vettori to hand a simple catch to the point fielder.
Robin Uthappa c Patel b Vettori 70 (45)
12th over: 112 for 2. Vinay Kumar goes for runs but manages to remove Pune skipper, Sourav Ganguly for just 6 runs.
Sourav Ganguly c Agarwal b Vinay Kumar 6 (8)
11th over: 101 for 1. Vettori puts all his experience into play and bowls an economical over.
10th over: 96 for 1. There is no stopping Uthappa. He is right now playing some excellent shots and scores two successive fours off slog-sweeps by beating the short third-man fielder. Uthappa in the process gets to his half-century.
9th over: 84 for 1. Good scoring rate and wickets in hand set Pune for a huge total and it seems there is no help from the pitch. Maybe this strategic time-out would help Bangalore to come out with a different approach.
8th over: 74 for 1. Appanna comes into bowl and goes for 11 runs. Uthappa is doing the bulk of scoring and Ganguly is playing second fiddle to him.
7th over: 63 for 1. Finally RCB manage to break the opening stand. Ryder loses out on his patience and goes for a big one and holes up at deep square-leg where Mayank Agarwal takes a brilliant catch.
Jesse Ryder c Agarwal b Patel 34 (22)
6th over: 58 for 0. Ryder and Uthappa are getting 10 runs from each over and this one was no exception. Uthappa steps out to Vettori and hits wide of mid-on and another one Ryder flicks off his legs for a boundary.
5th over: 48 for 0. Another expensive one from RCB. Harshal Patel comes in, but Ryder welcomes him with a six over the bowler's head and a four in the third-man region. Hope dropping Muralitharan doesn't prove costly and his experience would have come handy.
4th over: 37 for 0. Vinay Kumar bowls a decent over, except for a four scored by Uthappa rocking back and playing a hard cut in the square-leg area.
3rd over: 30 for 0. Now Jesse Ryder cuts loose with two boundaries from this Zaheer Khan over. The track seems to be flat and both the openers are having a field day at the moment.
2nd over: 18 for 0. Daniel Vettori's experiment of introducing Dilshan into the attack has back fired. 13 runs from this over. Robin Uthappa pulls one over deep mid-wicket for a flat six and follows it up with a four.
1st over: 5 for 0. Zaheer Khan starts the proceedings for Bangalore and gives away just five runs. First ball goes for a big wide, which wicketkeeper AB de Villiers dives to his left to stop.

7:30 pm: Pune Warriors skipper, Sourav Ganguly wins the toss and elects to bat against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Tough call has been taken by both the skippers by looking at the conditions here in Bangalore. Pune have left out Murali Kartik to accommodate a seamer and Bangalore bring in Tillakaratne Dilshan in place of Muttiah Muralitharan.
7:15 pm: Hello and welcome to the 21st match of IPL 5 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. RCB have won only one match from four and would desperately want to pull off a win to spur their campaign in this edition. On the other hand Pune are playing inspiring cricket, despite having no big names in their line-up.
