Marsh axed from academy after night out

Sydney: Australian Twenty 20 international Mitchell Marsh has been sent home from the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane for disciplinary reasons, Cricket Australia said on Saturday.

The 20-year-old West Australian all-rounder was ordered home to Perth after being declared unfit to train on Saturday following a night out, CA said in a statement.

"While the incident in isolation was not serious, he was already on a final warning," CA said.

Young Aussie player Marsh has been sent home from the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane for disciplinary reasons.

"As such, it was decided he should be sent home to Perth."

Marsh re-signed with Western Australia this week despite reports he was looking to move interstate because he was unhappy with WA's initial contract offer.

The powerful middle-order batsman and medium-pacer has represented Australia in three Twenty20 internationals and one one-dayer.

He is the youngest son of former Australian Test and one-day international opening batsman, Australia and Sri Lanka coach and Australia team selector Geoff Marsh.
