Khulna: Hamilton Masakadza and Paul Stirling powered Sylhet Royals to a six-wicket victory over Khulna Royal Bengals in the Bangladesh Premier League match (BPL) here on Wednesday. This was Sylhet third win in a row in this edition of the BPL.
Masakadza scored 52 off 49 balls that included six boundaries and two sixes whereas Stirling played a cameo of 38 from 23 balls that included three fours and four sixes. Chasing 146 to win the duo shared 78-run opening stand to make it a one sided contest.
Royals needed to score at four an over in the next nine overs to complete the win, which they eventually did with 22 balls to spare.
Earlier, opting to bat first Khulna Royal Bengals lost wickets at regular interval but Riki Wessels knock of 63 off 44 balls helped them post 145 for 7 in their quota of overs. Dirk Nannes and Sohag Gazi were pick of the bowlers for the winning side with the identical figures of 2 for 20 in their four overs.
