Matt Prior injured as England tour match ends in draw

Hobart: Matt Prior injured his calf while batting on Saturday and was unable to keep wicket for England in the visitors' rain-affected draw with Australia A.

Prior felt stiffness in his lower leg when attempting a single while batting on the fourth day at Bellerive Oval. Joe Root took over as wicketkeeper.

At the close of play, Australia A were 119 for 3 from 31 overs in response to England's 430 for 7 declared.

England play their final pre-Ashes tour match against an Invitational XI starting on Wednesday in Sydney.

Rain prevented play on the second and third days after England captain Alastair Cook (154) and his new opening partner Michael Carberry (153) notched unbeaten centuries on day one. They both retired at the start of play Saturday.
