New Delhi: Pace bowler Stuart Meaker has been called up to join the England as cover for the injured Steve Finn ahead of the four-Test series against India.
The England and Wales Cricket Board made the announcement in a statement on Saturday, saying Meaker "will return to the England Performance Program once Finn is available for selection."
The 23-year-old Meaker, who has featured in two one-day internationals but is yet to make his Test debut, is expected to play in the four-day game against Haryana in Ahmedabad from Nov. 8-11.
Finn strained his thigh earlier this week during England's three-day practice game against India A, which ended in a draw. The first Test will be played in Ahmedabad from Nov. 15.
