Sydney: Australia allrounder Mitchell Marsh is in doubt for the remainder of the one-day tri-series after suffering a lower back injury.
Marsh, the younger brother of Test batsman Shaun Marsh, complained of significant lower-back pain during Thursday's training session at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He was not included in the lineup for Friday's one-dayer against Sri Lanka.
Team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said medical scans indicated a lower-back bone stress injury and further tests in Melbourne on Saturday will help determine the rest period.
Kountouris said Marsh is not expected to be able to bowl for the remainder of this season. The Australia selectors will assess whether they need a replacement player for Sunday's ODI against India in Brisbane.
