New Delhi: Indian women will look to put behind them their miserable campaign in the World Twenty20, when they take on Thailand in their opening match of the T20 Asia Cup, to be played in Guangzhou, China, from October 24 to October 31.
Mithali Raj has been retained captain of the team, which has been clubbed alongside Pakistan, Hong Kong besides Thailand in Group A. A day after their opening match on October 25, India will play Hong Kong, followed by their last round-robin match against Pakistan on October 28. Harmanpreet Kaur Bhullar will be Mithali's deputy in the tournament. The semi-finals are slated to be held on October 30, a day before the title clash.
India failed to qualify for the knockout round after suffering three successive losses in the World T20 in Sri Lanka.
