Mumbai A 232 for 4 in 80.4 overs: Hiken Shah's unbeaten 84 and Cheteshwar Pujara's 87 guided Mumbai A to 232 at the loss of four wickets, as the home team trails England XI by 113 runs. For England, Anderson, Onions, Panesar and Root picked up one wicket each.

Mumbai A 211 for 3 in 77 overs: Monty Panesar finally manages to pick up the prized wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara for 87 when the right handed batsman pushed forward and edged to James Anderson at first slip.

Mumbai A 149 for 2 in 62 overs: Cheteshwar Pujara completes his half-century and Hiken Shah is also closing in on the landmark. They've stitched an unbeaten partnership of 102 runs for the third wicket.

Hiken Shah's unbeaten 84 and Cheteshwar Pujara's 87 guided Mumbai A to 232 for 4, as the home team trails England XI by 113 runs.

Mumbai A 110 for 2 in 49 overs Samit Patel has also been called in to the attack as visitors look for their third breakthrough but Pujara and Shah are watchful in the middle and are not giving bowler any chances. Players are now going for tea.

Mumbai A 101 for 2 in 45 overs Hundred up for Mumbai A in 45 overs. Pujara has slowed down a bit. On the other end Hiken Shah is playing some confident shots and is on 27 though he has played 90 balls but he looks settled in the middle.

Mumbai A 82 for 2 in 37 overs England bowlers have put break on Mumbai A scoring rate. Pujara is in his 30s while Hiken Shah is also in double figures now. Monty Panesar is bowling good line and length but is still wicketless. His figures are 7-1-17-0.

Mumbai A 39 for 1 in 16 overs Cheteshwar Pujara looks in fine form as he is timing the ball pretty well. He has raced in to double figures thanks to two classy boundaries. Dhawan on the other end is also playing some good cricketing shot and is on 23.

Mumbai A 19 for 1 in 12 overs That's Out! Graham Onions gets the first breakthrough. He gets better off Thakkar who is caught behind for just 5. He wasn't happy with the decision. Pujara walks in.

Mumbai A 13 for 0 in 7 overs It has been cautious start by Thakkar, who is still not off the mark. He is not out on 0 having played 20 balls. On the other hand Dhawan is looking solid in the middle. Having hit two boundaries in his 13.

Mumbai A 1 for 0 in 3 overs Thakkar and Shikhar Dhawan have opened the innings for the hosts and have started cautiously. Thakkar yet to open his account while Dhawan is on one. Anderson have bowled two maiden on the trot. Broad on the other end has given one from his first.

England XI 339 for 7 in 89 overs Great start for Mumbai A on Day 2. Broad falls lbw for 6. He was plumb in front of wickets. Thakur gets his second wicket of the match.

9:00 a.m. Samit Patel and Stuart Broad are on the crease for the visitors with Patel looking in fine form and is unbeaten on 59. On the other hand Mumbai A bowlers will hope to take early breakthroughs on Day 2.

Day 1 round-up

Wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow hit a resolute century and put on a 156-run partnership with Eoin Morgan to rescue England from a precarious position on the first day to help England reach 338 for 6.

For Mumbai Waingankar and Khan picked up two wickets each while Thakur and Yadav picked up one scalp.
