Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has once again shown its strong support for the Decision Review System (DRS) by announcing that it would be used in the Test and ODI series against England next month.
"We have obtained sponsorship due to which the DRS will be applied during the Test and ODI series against England," PCB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad told PTI.
Subhan said Pepsi has agreed to sponsor the use of the system which would cost roughly around USD 5000 per match.
"We believe that the system is a value addition to the sport and has helped in reducing errors in the game and assisting the umpires in making the right decisions," Subhan said.
Pakistan also used the DRS in their recent ODI series against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates.
Pakistan play three Tests starting from January 17 and then an ODI series against England in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Subhan said the England and Wales Cricket Board has also supported the use of the system in the coming series.
"It has been possible for us to have this system only because of the sponsors. Hopefully, the system will be a helpful tool for the umpires in Tests and ODIs. We will be using the Hawkeye and snickometer technologies in the series," he added.
