New Delhi: IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi may be forced to step down within the next 24 hours with Sharad Pawar withdrawing his support.
Sources have told CNN-IBN that the BCCI top brass expects Modi to resign later on Tuesday once he returns from Dubai, where he was attending the ICC meeting. Sources have also said that Pawar, who has earlier publicly defended Modi, has explained to the IPL chief that he is in a "difficult situation".
The BCCI is also all set to convene a special AGM to oust Modi if he doesn't step down on Tuesday. According to the sources, the BCCI suspects that Modi is involved in financial irregularities.
