New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders coach Dav Whatmore on Monday said he was pleased with the team's problem of having plenty of performers and that it was always healthy to have competition for places in the side.
Speaking to CNN-IBN from Kolkata after their second straight win, Whatmore said, "This is the kind of problem teams won't mind to have. We already have players who are performing well and the foreign players will only bolster that. It's good to have competition for places in the side."
Kolkata, who have won both their games so far, have been bolstered with the arrival of Kiwi pacer Shane Bond.
Whatmore was all praises for 22-year-old Angelo Mathews as well.
"Angelo Mathews' ability belies his youth. He has great variation and a very good head on his shoulders. Of course, he has been supported really well by Ishant and Charl as well," he said.
