Roseau: West Indies suffered a severe blow ahead of the third day's play in the final Test against India, as it was learnt that pacer Ravi Rampaul would not be able to bowl for the first few hours at least.
Rampaul has been vomiting since Thursday and didn't come on to bowl since the start of Indian innings.
The bowler, though, did bat in the West Indies' first innings.
Rampaul has been vomiting since Thursday and didn't come on to bowl.
According to the West Indies media manager, Rampaul went for a medical check-up and even though it was not a case of food poisoning, the Trinidadian fast bowler was feeling too weak.
Rampaul's absence further weakens the West Indies bowling line-up, which is now reduced to three-man attack.
West Indies, trailing 0-1 in the series, are desperate to draw level.
Rampaul has been crucial to the West Indies' scheme of things, as he has given the team breakthroughs in all his first spells this summer.
He has so far picked up eight wickets from the series at 27.25 average.
