Porvorim (Goa): A 154-run fifth-wicket partnership between Amit Kumar and Mukesh Sharma helped Himachal Pradesh post 210 for 5 against Goa on the opening day of the Group C Ranji match.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the visitors had slumped to 36 for four before Amit (76 not out) and Mukesh (73) resurrected the innings with their defiant stand. Goa's medium pacer Gaurish Gawas earned his maiden first class wicket when he had Himachal skipper Aakash Chopra (2) trapped in front of the stumps.
Amit and Mukesh then combined well and revived the team's sagging fortunes. Amit has so far struck 13 fours in his unbeaten 197-ball knock while Mukesh's 179-ball stay at the crease was studded with eight fours and a six. At stumps, Rishi Dhawan was giving company to Amit on 18.
For Goa, Gawas and left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati took two wickets each.

Jharkhand vs Andhra:
In Dhanbad, medium pacer Syed Sahabuddin scalped three wickets before Saurabh Tiwary struck a fighting unbeaten half-century to guide Jharkhand to 153 for six at the end of the opening day's play against Andhra in a Ranji Trophy Group C match here on Saturday.
Sahabuddin registered impressive figures of three for 31 in 17 overs to emerge as the star performer with the ball for Andhra at the Railway Stadium.
In reply, Tiwary shone with the bat for the hosts with a 183-ball 73-run unbeaten knock during which he hit seven boundaries and three sixes.
Ishank Jaggi (20) and Amir Hashmi (22) also got starts but failed to make them count. At stumps, wicketkeeper Shiv Gautam was giving company to Tiwary on 28. nApart from Sahabuddin, his new-ball partner Paidikalva Vijaykumar also picked up two wickets.

Kerala vs Tripura:
In Agartala, skipper Rohan Prem struck an unbeaten century to guide Kerala to 275 for five against Tripura in their Group C Ranji Trophy match. Prem was batting on 105 off 213 balls when stumps were drawn on the first day at Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium.
Abhishek Hegde (36) and VA Jagadeesh (30) added 72 runs for the opening wicket before the latter was trapped leg before by Sanjay Majumder. Prem and Robert Fernandez (25) then shared a 57-run stand for the third wicket to take the team past 150 mark.
Prem held on to his wicket at one end and played a vigilant knock laced with 12 fours. Akshay Kodoth was giving Prem company on 10 at stumps.
