Sachin Tendulkar, in an emotional message on Tuesday, has thanked his fans for being supportive during his 23-year ODI career.
The 39-year-old, who announced his retirement from ODIs on Sunday, tweeted: “Words are not enough to express my thanks to each of you for all the love & support I have received over the years...& especially now in the last couple of days. Your expressions have brought joy to my heart...& at times a tear to my eye!...
"Those magical moments of our ODI journey will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you so much.”

Earlier on Sunday, Tendulkar, who played 463 ODIs and made a record 18,426 runs with 49 hundreds and 96 fifties, announced his decision in a statement released by the BCCI: "I have decided to retire from the One Day format of the game. I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup wining Indian team.
"The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest. I would like to wish the team all the very best for the future. I am eternally grateful to all my well wishers for their unconditional support and love over the years."
