Ricky Ponting's luck in the Adelaide Test extended to Australia's second innings. Having been given two reprieves during his century in the first innings, the former Australian captain was let off on 45 in the second innings as the home team pushed for quick runs on the fourth morning.
The bowler to suffer again was Ishant Sharma. Ponting chased a length delivery outside off stump, got a thick outside edge, and Wriddhiman Saha leapt to his right. It was an excellent effort to try and get to the ball full-length in the air, but was dropped. It would have been a far simpler catch for first slip, had there been one.
