Kolkata: India's reserve wicketkeeper in the upcoming four-Test series in Australia, Wriddhiman Saha on Tuesday said he would take confidence from their triumph Down Under in the Emerging Players Tournament two years ago.

Saha, who will leave along with six other specialists on Thursday to start the preparation in advance, said he would wait for an opportunity to give his 100 per cent.

"I will not be curious of the conditions there. I have played there and have some good memory (of winning the title under Virat Kohli). So I will wait for an opportunity," Saha told reporters here.

Saha to wait for an opportunity Down Under

Saha, will leave for Aus along with six other specialists on Thursday to start the preparation in advance.

India, under Kohli, had won the Emerging Players Tournament by defeating South Africa in Brisbane two years ago. In that tournament, the Bengal wicketkeeper-batsman averaged 56 from seven matches and effected 14 dismissals, including three stumpings.

"As a batsman you need to give a little extra there. But for a wicketkeeper, the conditions are ideal as the ball comes along nicely."

Saha has done his homework for the tour by having a word with Bengal star player and former India skipper Sourav Ganguly.

"He (Sourav) has told me to stay focused and concentrate on my style of play. Besides, he has given me few cricketing tips and I'm confident of a good show if given an opportunity.

"It's a big opportunity for me. But I'm not extra cautious. I am taking it as any other tour. I don't have any specific target other than improving my performance day by day," he said.

Saha along with Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Ishant Sharma, Pragyan Ojha and Umesh Yadav are leaving early for the series beginning December 26 in Melbourne.
