Pune: Deccan Chargers captain Kumar Sangakkara has been fined $20,000 for his team's slow over-rate during Thursday’s IPL 5 match against Pune Warriors India here.
At the end of the match, Deccan Chargers were assessed to be one over behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration.
Since it was his first offence of this season under the IPL Code of Conduct, Sangakkara was fined $20,000, said an IPL release. Deccan Chargers beat the host Pune by 18 runs to register their first win of this IPL edition.
