Greater Noida: Keen to focus on the positives despite Deccan Chargers losing their second match in a row in IPL 5, Kumar Sangakkara said the fact that his team fought hard against a strong Mumbai Indians gave him a lot of confidence going ahead in the tournament. Chasing 139 for victory, Mumbai looked like losing the match against Deccan last night before Rohit Sharma smashed a towering six off the last ball to steer Mumbai to a dramatic five-wicket victory.

"Losing is not easy; it is always hard. But the positive thing is we know that we can reinforce victory and we are good enough [against a strong team]. The way we played yesterday proved that we have it in us," said Sangakkara on the sidelines of the launch of Formula One Indian Grand Prix tickets at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) here on Tuesday. "We were about 20 runs short. But 139 was a defendable total. A couple of early wickets had put us in the game. Even Dale's [Steyn] over [penultimate of the innings] in the end brought us back into the match and you always back yourself when it is 18 runs from just six balls. But Rohit played well."

Deccan will next play Rajasthan Royals on April 17 in Jaipur, and Sangakkara felt that there was enough time to work on their grey areas. "Now we have about five-six days off and we are going to train hard and try to improve on our game. We would also look to make less mistakes in the other games," he said.

Deccan Chargers lost a close match to Mumbai Indians on Monday when Rohit Sharma hit a last-ball six.

Steyn, meanwhile, said that it was still early days in IPL 5 and that once Deccan started winning, things would fall into place. "Once you start winning, you get the momentum and we are also looking to do that," he said.
