New Delhi: Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar is now the frontrunner to be the interim chief of the organisation, which has been left in a lurch ever since the pressure on its current president, N Srinivasan, to resign has mounted, sources said.

The BCCI board will meet informally ahead of the IPL 6 final in Kolkata on Sunday but the decision on Srinivasan, whose son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested on IPL betting charges, will only be taken after final, sources said.

Manohar, who was the BCCI's president from 2008 to 2011, has been asked to find a negotiated solution, sources said.
