The uncapped 19-year-old spinner is part of a 15-man squad to face New Zealand for two Test matches.
Colombo: Uncapped offspinner Tharindu Kaushal has been included in Sri Lanka’s Test squad for the series against New Zealand despite never playing a domestic first-class of one-day match. The 19-year-0ld was already in Sri Lanka’s ODI squad against the visitors but has now found a spot in the Test frame, while left-arm fast bowler Chanaka Welegedara earned a recall after recovering from injury.
Also in the 15-man squad for the Test series starting in Galle on November 17 were the pace-bowling pair of Dhammika Prasad and Shaminda Eranga. They replaced Thisara Perera and Nuwan Pradeep.
There were no other changes to the squad that played Pakistan earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Tillakaratne Dilshan has been ruled out of the last two one-day internationals against New Zealand with a sore back.
