New Delhi: BCCI's self-exiled president N Srinivasan has his game plan in place. After slapping a life-ban on the former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, the India Cements boss has organised a three-day 'outing' for the BCCI members leading up the the board's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday - reported ESPNCricinfo.

Attended by about a third of the BCCI officials, Srinivasan has chosen the resort town of Mahabalipuram as the place for the 'outing', which can be seen as a support-gathering exercise to bag one-year extension as BCCI president at the AGM.

Media reports suggest Srinivasan's predecessors Shashank Manohar and Sharad Pawar may return to press claim for the president's post, but having secured the South Zone lobby, Srinivasan has the numbers in his favour to thwart the challenge.

The board was on the same page as far as the decision to ban Modi was concerned, but that may not be the case come Sunday, with many officials against granting Srinivasan the extension. Thus, despite garnering support from the south zone, the BCCI chief doesn't want to leave anything to chance.

The 'outing' has been organised at an exotic resort in the historic city of Mahabalipuram, an hour's drive away from Chennai. The reason cited from the Srinivasan camp, reported ESPNCricino was since "many members were going to stay back in Chennai between the two meetings [SGM and AGM] anyway".
