Swann's success could spur Harbhajan

Centurion: English spinner Graeme Swann's success in South Africa last season could inspire Harbhajan Singh to achieve greater deeds during India's three-match Test series against the Proteas, feels batsman Ashwell Prince.

Prince said that the India off-spinner was likely to take encouragement from the Swann's success.

"Swann is now ranked the number one spinner in the world and I am sure Harbhajan will want to say something about that," Prince said.

Swann's success could encourage Harbhajan

Ashwell Prince said that the India off-spinner was likely to take encouragement from the Swann's success.

With cloud and rain expected over the next few days, there could be just enough for the bowlers to exploit the conditions in Centurion, venue for the first Test beginning on Thursday.

"The weather forecast is not good and as long as there is rain there will be moisture in the pitch. We are expecting the ball to do a bit," said Prince.

Prince said the South Africans had immense respect for the Indian bowling attack.

"Their fast bowlers normally do very well in the sub-continent, which doesn't support fast bowling, so we expect them to do well in conditions that help them," he said.

The fact that the series is between the world number one side India and number two South Africa "builds the game up", Prince said.

Despite being a batsman himself, Prince said: "Its better for the team to be playing in conditions where the bowlers had a good chance to take 20 wickets."
