Mirpur: Sylhet Royals earned their first victory in the inaugural edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), by scoring a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Duronto Rajshahi at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a target of 125, Sylhet reached their target in the 17th over for the loss of just one wicket.
Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal scored an unbeaten 72 off 51 balls, which included three sixes and seven fours as Sylhet Royals won the contest in 16.3 overs.
Earlier, Sohail Tanvir took 4/13 and Abul Hasan chipped in with 3/30 as Duronto Rajshahi were restricted to 124/9 in 20 overs.
Shahzaib Hasan was the highest scorer for Rajshahi with 54 (46) in an innings which included seven boundaries.
