Dhaka: The Bangladesh selectors have included uncapped offspinner Shohag Gazi in the squad for the first Test against West Indies in Mirpur starting November 13. The 14-man squad named on Thursday also saw medium-pacer Abul Hasan, who has played four Twenty20 internationals, earn his maiden Test call-up.
Gazi, 21, has been called up after an impressive run in the ongoing National Cricket League in which he has taken 11 wickets in two matches, including a hat-trick, as well as scored a century for Barisal. In 18 first-class matches he has a career tally of 87 wickets at 24. Hasan, 20, represents Sylhet at the domestic level and has taken eight wickets at 43.37 from six first-class matches.

The experienced batsman Mohammad Ashraful was left out after his form took a major downturn in this season's NCL and replaced by Naeem Islam. The series against West Indies includes two Tests, five ODIs and one Twenty20 international. The second Test is in Khulna from November 21-25.
