New Delhi: So, now are the Chinese going to take over the world of cricket as well? Maybe not, but Jonathan Foo of Chinese descent played the innings of his life as Guyana stunned one and all by beating Barbados to win the Caribbean T20 tournament, thereby assuring themselves a place in the 2010 Champions League T20 competition in South Africa.

Foo smashed 42 of a mere 17 balls as the Guyana team reached their winning target of 135 in 19.5 overs with just one wicket in hand.

With more fancied Caribbean sides like Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Barbados falling by the wayside, Guyana will look to turn the tables on the big guns in their group in the CL T20 tournament.

Unheralded Guyana : Know your team

Guyana, under the leadership of Ramnaresh Sarwan will look to turn the tables on the big guns in their group in the CL T20 tournament.

The IPL teams Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, South Australia and the Highveld Lions from South Africa might just be in for a rude shock if they take this Caribbean team for granted.

The state from the northern coast of South America has produced quite a few West Indian legends:

Clyve Lloyd who led the Windies to back to back World Cup wins in 1975 and 1979, and who once said, 'I am not a good loser, I think a good loser is a loser.

All rounder Carl Hooper whose problem was too much talent according to former English opener Geoffrey Boycott.

Batting greats Allvin Kallicharan, Rohan Kanhai and Roy Fredericks along with off spinners Lance Gibbs and Roger Harper all have Guyanese antescedents.

Even Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan who currently form the backbone of the fragile West Indian batting order are from this state.

Though the Guyana team lacks big stars, their players will take inspiration from Kieron Pollard who hit the New South Wales bowlers all over the park on his way to a match winning knock of 54 of 18 balls for Trinidad and Tobago at last year's CL T20.
