Poor Upul Tharanga still can't buy runs in Australia. The woefully out of form Sri Lankan opener came into this match with scores of 4 and 5 in the series so far, both times edging to slip, and if he thought Valentine's Day would offer some room for optimism, it sorely did not.
Second ball of the match, a leaden-footed Tharanga was prized out by Vinay Kumar who was well aware of the opener's troubles outside the off stump. The ball pitched just short of a length and moved away enough to take the outside edge, and MS Dhoni took the catch. It was Tharanga’s 13 duck in ODI cricket, and fifth against India.
