Rajkot: A patient unbeaten century by middle order batsman Arpit Vasavada helped Saurashtra pile up 469 all out against Karnataka on the second day of their five-day Ranji Trophy quarterfinal match at Saurashtra University ground here on Monday.
Overnight batsman Vasavada (152 not out) and Chirag Jani were batting steadily in morning before off-spinner Krishnappa Gautham gave the visitors the much needed breakthrough by removing Jani who made 36 off 113 balls with five fours and added 71 runs with Vasavada for the sixth wicket.
Kamlesh Makwana too made a useful contribution, adding 78 runs for the seventh wicket during which Vasavada completed his century. The hosts' innings, however, folded soon after departure of Makawana, who made 32, while Vasavada remained unbeaten on 152 after facing 357 balls with 23 fours.
