Melbourne: Australian opener David Warner has credited new coach Mickey Arthur for his recent good form, saying the South African's advice has brought impressive results.

The 25-year-old, who is in fine form, said he has changed his stance slightly as suggested by Arthur and it has worked wonders for him.

"I don't think many people would have noticed this at all, but in the second innings in the (Hobart) Test I actually changed my stance," Warner told Sky Sports.

Team India has never won a Test series in Australia.

"My stance was a bit closer than it normally is. Mickey Arthur actually just made note to me before that saying I think that you should move your stance closer together. It allows me to put my weight going forward," he said.

Warner said the changed stance has helped him improve a few shots.

"Every time I went to drive the ball a lot of my weight was on my back foot and that's probably why I was driving a few balls in the air and not actually getting the timing right and hitting it through the covers instead of backwards point.

"That's really helped me and it shows that in the Twenty20 form it works as well," he said.
