Despite a win, captain Ganguly is worried of his team\'s poor fielding.
Mumbai: Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders began their IPL 2010 campaign with a bang, beating defending champions Deccan Chargers in the opening game here on Friday.
But captain Sourav Ganguly is a worried man due to too many fielding errors on field.
The team needs to improve in the fielding department to win the third edition of the tournament, Ganguly said after the game that they won by 11 runs.
"We've got some improvements to make, fielding is such an area. We dropped Adam (Gilchrist) twice and we were lucky to win from there," Ganguly said.
He praised Angelo Mathews and Owais Shah for recovering the team from 31-4.
"Owais and Mathews batted outstandingly to take us to 161. We were ordinary for the first 10 overs in both innings but pulled back in the last 10 overs," Ganguly said.
"We thought, 150 to 160 will be good total for them, but Gilchrist batted outstandingly. We were lucky to win the match from that position," he added.
Deccan Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist regretted their loss despite good starts with both ball and bat.
"We were in the box seat, great start with the ball and bat also but we didn't finish well. We panicked a little bit," Gilchrist said.
Gilchrist was all praise for the Knight Riders who bowled well with a nice change of pace. Gilly hopes Deccan will improve in the coming games of the 43-day long tournament.
Man of the match Mathews said he and Shah were determined to bat till the end after coming together when their team was on the back-foot.
