London: West Indies fast bowler Shannon Gabriel will return home from the tour of England because of a back injury. During his Test debut at Lord's, Gabriel took four wickets but left the match on Monday after lunch. A scan after the five-wicket loss to England revealed a stress reaction in the lower spine, West Indies physiotherapist CJ Clark said in a statement on Tuesday.
Gabriel was ruled out of the second Test and will leave for Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday for rest and rehab.
Tino Best, who played the last of his 14 Tests in 2009, was summoned as Gabriel's replacement and will arrive on Wednesday.
